Have you ever imagined what a world could have been without sports! Sports play most of the vital role in human lives just from the time of early age to old age. A six week old baby in a mother’s womb can be felt moving! That movement alone assures the doctor and the mother that the baby is alive and doing some gymnastics in there. That is sports! Throughout the nine months the baby will be doing exercise till when he is born. When the baby starts growing up he is playful and wants to do various sporting activities. This helps the baby grow actively and in good health. When a child is involved in sports the exercise in sports breaks down the fats in his body and builds muscles on his body that helps him grow in health. It also helps the organs of the body to function well.

At teenage hood sports is still very important. At this age a person is active and takes in a lot of food. So if one does not involve him/herself in sporting activity he/she may accumulate fats which in the long run may bring complications to the body. That is why most institutes of high school and colleges encourage their students to at least be involved in sports. During the teenage hood the energy produced by the young body is in abundance and if not well utilized it can be used in other activities that are not of importance to the teenager him/her self or to the entire community as a whole. Some may even end up involving themselves in drugs, robbery, early sex etc. since they are idle and yet energetic.

At middle age; say between late 20’s and early 40, sporting is still important to a person to help him/her avoid welcoming the old age first. Sports at this age will help one remain young, fit and healthy. It will help the aging body remain strong and away from sickness. In old age sporting is still important, though many a times at this age most people are tired, have enough complications and most don’t involve themselves in sports. They only want to eat an sleep which is dangerous to the body. Eating and sleeping will only make you age faster that expected, since the body is idle and there is nothing to motivate it. Exercise and sporting in this age will help one keep fit and have a good health.

Different people do sports for different reasons. There are people who do sports as a talent and excel very well, others do it as an income generating activity, some do it as a hobby and yet others sport just for fun and to keep fit.

There are different sporting activities; this includes football, handball, basketball, hockey, rugby, net ball, athletes, body building, swimming, racing, etc.

For one to excel in any sporting activity one needs to first of all love the sport and have a passion for it, create enough time for its practise & exercise. Consistency is also required! You can’t be doing sport for one year and leave it for another one year later then resume again. It is virtually impossible for it to work! It has to be your daily activity.
