SARAH PALIN

Sarah Palin won the Miss Alaska Pageant, held at Miss Alaska contest in 1984. Sarah ranked second in the overall preliminaries, but won the preliminary swimsuit and evening gown competitions. Sarah went on to place second, and third in the swimsuit, interview, and evening gown semi-final competitions respectively. After winning the title Palin was elected twice as a member of Wasilla, Alaska, City Council in the year 1992 & 1995. She was the member of Wasilla from 1992 to 1996 and after that; she became the city’s mayor in 1996 to 2002. By defeating former democratic governor Frank Murkowski & Tony Knowles in November 2006, she made the history and became the Governor of Alaska. She is the states youngest & the first female Governor. She also became the first women to sit on the Republican Presidential ticket. Being a vice president of the Republican Party Palin was the nominee & the second female candidate for the 2008 United States Presidential election together with Senator John McCain. Sarah Palin is someone with strong principles, a fighting spirit, and deep compassion.
Personal Life: Sarah Palin ,born in a catholic family is a mother of five children and wife of Todd Palin who works for the London based Oil Company. She is a wife, mother, professional, leader, & even eye candy. The running mate of McCain, Sarah had to deal with a discloser of pregnancy of her unmarried daughter. John aware of it decided support the decision of keeping the baby supported by her parents. Obama said that reporters should not bring people’s families especially the children as they are off limits & this should not be our part of our politics. Sarah has spent her life with numerous labels. Sarah has proved herself repeatedly that she can balance the Black Berries and the Breast pump.She is not one to be underestimated.
Political & Public Life: Before entering into the local politics, she worked as a Sports Journalist, Commercial fisherwoman, State Oil & Gas Commissioner. Sarah has expressed her position on a wide range of political issues during her political career, including as the Governor of Alaska & Republican vice presidential candidate for the 2008 United States presidential election. In her first prime time speech as a republican vice president, she said, “that in politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers & then there are those like John McCain who use their career to promote change.”
Palin opposes same sex marriage & Supported a non – binding referendum for an Alaskan constitutional amendment to deny state health benefits to same sex couples. Palin has stated that abortion should be banned in nearly all cases including the rape and incest except if the life of the mother is in danger. Palin has promoted Oil and Natural gas exploration in Alaska. Regarding the foreign policy, Sarah strongly supports the Bush Administration policies in Iraq. She also supports the U. S. military operation in Pakistan but she declined in giving the yes or no answer that whether the U. S. military forces should make a cross border attack into Pakistan without the approval of the Pak Government.
People are making lot of speculation about the Sarah future but she denied the rumors that she is getting ready to run for president in 2012. Some of the experts predict that her political future is far from over & she could run in 2012 but she says that by then she would become a great grandmother.
